Beautiful, but….

So ok.  I may as well get it out of the way right off…no octopuses!

AGAIN! I’m getting a complex.  I am also wondering if something is going on.  Is the water too warm?  Did all the storm action scare them into deeper water?!

I did start with pretty clouds:

Please note the advertisement above about my olympus digital camera tg2.  maybe that’ll help them take that stupid caption off the bottom of every single photo.  Irritating…just sayin’.

Pink returned for another show this morning

Oh yes, love that.

Palms for my sweetheart:

OK, lovely, right?  God provided…

Trash was somewhat cumbersome right away, with two snorkels. I wonder how hard it is to lose it and bend down to pick it back up.  But actually, just because it’s near shore NOW, doesn’t mean it was near shore to begin with.  So rather than carry them around for what turned out to be 2.5 hours, I swam back in and threw them on the beach.  Perhaps someone will recycle…Two bandaids, 2 gray triangles, 3 scrunchies.

Three snowflake morays and a brighteye damsel fish.

And a punctured mitre shell, probably still alive.  Aren’t you proud of me that I looked it up first, before posting the photo?

Punctured mitre shell

I am thinking it was alive because it was partially buried, with the “business end” in the sand.  Also, it was in good condition, so I’m guessing it wasn’t rolled around much in the surf.  And yes, it would have been great to “harvest” it, but no can do!

Clumpy nudibranch:

Another one of the darker colored ones.  Not sure why.

Sunlight was quite cooperative…

Coral:

If you click on the photo, you can see bits of sand and other detritus trapped in the coral.

A nice swim.  Praying for one octopus tomorrow!

  1. You must have scarred off the octopus. What is nudibranch? Hope tomorrow is a better day for you😀

    • a nudibranch is like a slug…it means Naked Lung. The frilly stuff on its back is how it breathes in the water. And thanks!

  2. Beautiful pictures!
